Rachel Ann (Harris) Crisp passed away on January 2nd, 2017

Monday January 2nd, 2017 Rachel Ann (Harris) Crisp, wife of Carl Crisp, passed away at the age of 86 (and 10 month). This happened unexpected and we were totally surprised by this sad news. We remember Rachel as a wonderful woman who truly was interested in people, their thought, problems, needs and dreams. We feel blessed being her guests in New Castle, Indiana in the Summer of 2016. Thank you Rachel for being our hist and friend. Rest in Peace. We will pray for you, Carl and your lovely family.

Update October 28th, 2016

[:us]

You can find new information and pictures in “My WWII Collection” and on the page of Radio Operator Carl Crisp (section Louis Prangl – B-17 Positions – Radio Operator – Carl Crisp). On August 1, 2015 Carl received a high French medal!

Last Summer we were again guest of the Gibbons (Hemstreet) Family and Gloria & Ed Pollack (daughter of pilot Leonard J Gaik). BUT… this time we were also guest at the home of veteran Carl Crisp and his lovely wife Rachel in New Castle, Indiana. We also saw the original B-17 Memphis Belle in Dayton, Ohio.

The Gibbons Family had a big surprise for us: we visited a breakfast/reunion of WW2-veterans in state of New York!!! I’ll tell you more about this wonderful experience soon.

Visit Family of John Hemstreet at Margraten

[:nl]

Finally family of John Hemstreet was able to visit the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial at Margraten. Brendan Gibbons, grandson of John’s cousin and best friend Richard Gibbons, was our guest from June 11 till 18, 2014. Brendan also did research to find information about the WW2 history  of his family members. Especially John or “Jack”, as he still is called by family, was his favorite subject. We had a terrific, busy and emotional time together with a busy program of many visitations, but also 2 presentation by Brendan for students of the 2 schools where I work as music teacher, St. Jans College Hoensbroek and BC Broekhin Roermond. The press was interested in both presentations. This resulted in Roermond in publications in a local news paper De Trompetter and an interview for the local TV station. The news paper De Limburger did publish an article about the presentation at Hoensbroek.
